I first visited Koh Tao a few years ago, and I was immediately smitten. The island has a unique energy that’s hard to describe. I loved spending my days exploring the island’s many beaches, hiking through the lush jungle, and swimming in the warm, turquoise waters.

One of my favorite things to do on Koh Tao is to go scuba diving. The island’s reefs are teeming with marine life, and I’ve seen everything from colorful fish to turtles to sharks. Even if you’re not a certified diver, there are plenty of opportunities to snorkel or take a glass-bottom boat tour.

When I’m not in the water, I enjoy relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun. There are several great beaches on Koh Tao, each with its own unique vibe. Sairee Beach is the most popular, and it’s a great place to people-watch and enjoy the lively atmosphere. If you’re looking for something more secluded, try Freedom Beach or Shark Bay.

No trip to Koh Tao is complete without trying some of the island’s delicious food. There are plenty of restaurants serving up fresh seafood, Thai curries, and international cuisine. I especially love the Thai pancakes, which are made with coconut milk and served with a variety of toppings.
